Zhibo "Z" Yuan is a 5th year graduate student in the Reichmanis Research Group in the School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech. His current research interests focuses on the design and development of semiconducting polymers for various applications.
Z was born in Nanyang, Henan, a medium city in central China. He attended Western Kentucky University(WKU) in the year of 2009, entered the Honors College of WKU, and received his B.S. in chemistry in the year of 2013. He spent two years focusing on the synthesis and characterization of metalloporphyrins and metallocorroles, and selective sulfoxidation reactions of a variety of organic sulfides to sulfoxides catalyzed by ruthenium porphyrin complexes and the kinetics and mechanisms of such biomimetic processes.
Besides science, he is a fan of sports. He is a fan of Dwayne Wade (Miami Heat-NBA). He also likes art. His favorite artists are Oscar-Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, and many other impressionism artists.
Currently, Z is planning to work on the design and development of semiconducting polymers.
